January Resources
Don’t you just love a fresh start?! I am in Virginia with JG Brumfield Elementary helping to kick off the second half of the year with some demo guided math lessons across the grade levels! SO FUN! I wanted to be sure to touch base with you and give you some January resources that can help you jump back in to the grind for the best part of the year!
January Reading and Language Arts
Jump back into January with over 30 reading and literacy activities to energize your reading block! Guided reading table, mini-lessons, centers, literacy notebook, and comprehension helpers are all standards-based and ready to go! These winter themed activities will excite your learners and help freeze away the back to school blues! {that goes for teacher too} Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade
January Writing
Keep your monthly mini-lessons going strong throughout January (and beyond) with these writing lessons for K, 1, and 2! There are lessons, writing templates, and seasonal writing projects too! Everything is standards aligned so you can be sure you are hitting on everything you need!
January Math
If you need hands on explicit lessons for your math block, I have guided math lessons for k,1,2 and 3! No matter which concept you are ready to try, I have you covered! Warm-up, whole group mini-lesson, and hands-on small group application!
Interactive Math Games
Another new product addition to the math family of late has been the interactive math games series! You can get 5 interactive math games to use in your math block! Use them as whole group review games, or put them on a device or computer! All you need is Microsoft PowerPoint to run these games! To read more about them, check out this post.
Addition and Subtraction to 10
Math Supplements
Beyond the guided math lessons, I have also been creating a math supplements line! This post shares a bit about it! You can find number chats, printable practice (by concept) and exit tickets for those times when you need a quick grade or check point! This is K,1, and 2 as well!
January Math Centers
If you ask our students which part of math is their favorite they will usually say math centers! Here’s a peek at K-2 math centers for January! K,1,2
You can also get all three in a discounted set! This allows you to differentiate or meet the needs of your multiple level learners!
January Science
When the weather gets cold, my attention turns to thematic fun! Snowmen, penguins, and winter animals provide the engaging backdrop to our standards-based adventures! Both penguin science and this weather umbrella provide a fun 3D keepsake for science learning!
Recent Updates
One thing that has been changing this year is my daily language and daily math sets! These tried and true daily review skills sheets were in serious need of an update! I printed language on one side and math on the other side. They were a staple in my morning routine at first, but then became a part of the Rise and Shine binder. The great part about these daily review sheets is that they can be used for homework or seat work at any time of the day! There are 8 volumes in the complete set which makes enough for a page every day of the school year!
January Checklist Complete!
Hopefully you are all set to go and any gaps you had looming can be filled with a treasure from these resources! Happy second half of the school year!
