Our Last Day in Pictures
Here’s how we enjoyed our last day together! It really hasn’t sunk in yet.
We laughed, we cried, we played!
Minute to Win It! Oh so fun! I made some first grade modifications and it went off without a hitch! If you don’t have it just click {Here} (it’s a freebie)
Game 1 Go Fishing.
I did this one 2 at a time. They had to fan their tissue paper fish under the little brown table. It was a fish trap in case you were wondering. Sorry they are blurry…moving too quickly for my iphone!
Game 2 There she blows.
You have to blow the cup off the other side of table only using a straw.
(modification is lean on the table if needed 🙂 )
Game 3 Nose Diving
Transfer cotton balls from one plate to another with your nose (and some Vaseline!)
Game 4 Bean There Done That
Students suck a bean to the end of a straw and run it to another plate.
This was hard for some because they had to suck in for a longer time than they ever had but they all got at least one bean transferred after figuring out how to not breathe out.
Game 5 Scrambled Breakfast
Put together a cereal box puzzle.
I paired them up and didn’t time them. Everyone was able to figure it out with a partner.
Game 6 Noodling Around
You are supposed to get 3 noodles on a spaghetti stick with NO HANDS.
modification- break the long spaghetti in half and have them get only 2 noodles. I modeled how hard it was so they didn’t give up right away. I didn’t time this one. It’s tough!
Game 7 Face the Cookie
You have to get a cookie (nilla wafer) from your forehead to your mouth with only scrunching your facial muscles. HILARIOUS! Very tough…few did it. But I modeled it and they died laughing. My cookie did NOT make it into my mouth.
And FINALLY…….We Rolled out the butcher paper red carpet and did our CANDY AWARDS! We just did these at the end of our last day as a class. It was precious and perfect. They all seemed really excited and happy and the red carpet just made it SO GLAMOROUS!

Printed off my awards today and got my 'red carpet' all ready! I can't wait to do this next week during our parent day. I think I'm more excited than the kids will be! Thanks so much for your great ideas!
These were great. We enjoyed giving these out in our first grade classes, and the parents really liked them.
I used your red carpet idea for my awards time with my students. They loved it! They were giving each other high fives as they walked the carpet. I am going to use the games on the last day after our talent show. I know they will enjoy–thank you for the ideas!
I just checked TPT and don't see the candy bar awards. Are they in a different location now? I would love to use them but the link doesn't take you to them….
I took them down because I never heard back from the candy companies about using their logo. I just decided to stay on the safe side! Thanks for letting me know and I appreciate your interest!
This is so wonderful! I teach middle school science, and I think that these would be great for my students as well. You're students are so lucky!
OOPPPSSS…Your….sorry. I think I really need Christmas break…LOL.
Can't wait to play the games with my TBI young adults! Thanks so much! What a fun and creative teacher you are!
Will you come be the teacher for my children? These kids look so happy. It's obvious they love school – job well done!
This would be a great idea for my AmeriCorps after school students that I tutor. Thanks a bunch 😀
I just wrote about how successful my Candy Bar Awards last year. The kids really love them!
